Do you already have 220 out in the garage? If you do it's just a matter of adding a new circuit. If not, then the whole feed for the garage needs to be upgraded, and you main panel in the house has to have two blank slots for the 220 breaker. And if your garage is detached, the farther it is away the more it will cost. You could get away with as little as 50 bucks if you already have 220 out there up to and beyond 2K if you need everything upgraded.
